Still popular particularly in the project industry (Engineering) where they have small project files. Also in accounting for retaining the years work together. Again it is the 1950's substitute for the Lever Arch Mechanism - which has been improved slightly with the addition of a holding mechanism in some types of folders (particularly British). This fastener works only on gusseted folders, and has the advantage that that the gusset causes a ideal naming strip on the back of the folder.
A full size folder with gusset for expansion. Easy to use fitting to ensure positive retention of documents. One of the more popular with consultants, engineers and others, who want a small version of the lever arch file. It is one of the more expensive folders. Irrespective of the thickness of the contents the spring itself takes up 15mm of space (due to their design and the thickness of the spring). This is a capacity of approximately 50 per metre. When this is added to a suspension file sleeve the amount of space available for storage of paper is reduced by at least 40%. The combination of the spiral spring action file folder, suspension sleeves and the four drawer cabinets has produced one of the most space inefficient file systems available. There is now a less expensive fastener that replaces this device SEE TUBE CLIPS. |
